A special event to celebrate the launch of Albany songstress Simone Keane’s much anticipated album Graced by Leaves.
Never-before heard songs from Simone’s fifth album will be shared with those lucky enough to attend.
Simone is a dual WAM Song of the Year winner, exceptionally proud to be launching her new album in her beautiful home town of Albany Western Australia. “All the new songs were written in Albany, such an inspirational part of the world,” she says.
Graced by Leaves took three years to complete after a challenging start during covid lockdowns. Persistence, determination and a highly-skilled team has brought Simone’s vision for her unique concept album to fruition. Produced at Crank Studio by Lee Buddle (Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Perth Jazz Orchestra), it features world class musicians, including Grammy Award winning Lucky Oceans, Ben Franz (The Waifs), plus deeply respected drummer Bronton Ainsworth (WASO), a past Albany Senior High School music student! It was recorded both at CRANK in Perth and in Albany by Kim Lofts.
The Gold Room event will include live performances plus music videos. Joining her are much loved, respected and accomplished musicians, the sublime Marie Limondin on violin and dynamic Rosco Dwyer on lead guitar, both featuring on Simone’s album.
Graced by Leaves incorporates Simone’s love of folk pop and country blues. Her ethereal voice, reminiscent of lullabies and soothing hymns, coupled with upbeat, sassy acoustic numbers will take listeners on an entertaining journey of story-telling, tapping into the roots of our inner natures. Each song contains references to trees, both literally and metaphorically. “Trees are the birth, the death and the resurrection. Our whole lives revolve around them, whether we realise it or not. I think they hold secrets of stories untold, childhood memories, songs unsung. I want to share some of those.”
