The Big Cheese Revue is all about the fusion of a chunky lean cut of Blues, some assorted Gospel, a slice of old RnB, a great dollop of rock n roll and a dash of Country. A recipe of our five favourite styles of music combined to make a sonic nosh-up that we hope everyone who hears it will indulge in, enjoy & appreciate … We take inspiration from some of the greats [Keb Mo’, Joe Cocker, Stevie Wonder], a number of lesser knowns [Lucky Peterson, Delbert McClinton], and our own desperation and joy, in order to blend together a sound and a set list that highlights some of the best of all.The select songs are brought to life by a fabulous band which features: The vocal stylings of Rev [Geoff Waldeck], who can turn even the most average dirge into a blues croon or dance floor special; The keyboard wizardry of Mike Eastman, who fine-tuned his chops working as the Director of Contemporary Music of WAAPA for many years; The guitar extra-wizardry of Ross Dwyer, virtuosic guitar tutor to the stars and many, many aspiring locals; and The phenomenon that is the rhythm section of Tony King [Bass] and Paul Meyers [Drums], all work together to create a quality, fun, fusion of music for a classic night out !
