**Six Degrees becomes an 18+ ONLY Venue from 8:30pm**
Rastatrix plays up-beat reggae-based music for dancing. Enjoy dancing to roots reggae, dub and Ska, with a selection of golden classics and original tunes!
Rastatrix have performed around south-west WA since 2012, opening for bands such as Sticky Fingers, Kooii and Dragon. Rastatrix has recordings on the WAM Sounds of the Great Southern CD and “One Drop in the Ocean” online.
Rastatrix was formed in 2012 from the amalgamation of BeatRoot Reggae Band and Dave Rastrix Band. Founder David Rastrick had played in the Great Southern’s first reggae band “SilvaBeat” in the mid’ ’90s and sought to carry on the tradition. Rastatrix have forged their own sound by taking the rhythmic and vocal elements of reggae, Ska and Dub and mixing in trumpet jazz improvisation.
While Rastatrix have recently been performing a Bob Marley and the Wailers tribute, the upcoming show will feature a wide selection of reggae classics plus energetic original songs.
Rastatrix four piece will feature:
David Rastrick – vocals, trumpets, keys
Xander Rowden – vocals, guitar
Triska Lehane – bass
Mark Gretton – drum-kit
There’s nothing like the lively sounds of reggae “riddems” for dancing! You can enjoy Rastatrix from 8:30 to 11 p.m. at Six Degrees on Friday 18th of August.
