How was the Noah Young Duo born?
5 Years ago in a small Fremantle apartment where Noah Young, an aspiring Blues and Roots artist, met Brody Manson, a Double bass player born and raised in Albany. After realising study and the 9 to 5 work grind just wasn’t the life they wanted, they packed up, and hit the road.
Over the past 18 months Noah has called his Mitsubishi Triton home with Brody not far behind in his Troop Carrier churning out Blues, Roots and Folk tunes from bustling city streets to bush backed rural towns. Noah has traveled multiple times up and down the coast of Western Australia and even had the opportunity to spend 3 months in the Northern Territory at the beginning of 2020.
Noah Young Duo’s foot stomping sound is hard to put in a box. His versatility ranges from classic blues to jazz, rock and funk. No matter when or where The Noah Young Duo can have you up on your feet, or at least tapping along.
Mr. Young’s deep, gritty voice is very reminiscent of Tom Waits with a lashing of Eddie Vedder and John Butler thrown into the mix. Noah has also mastered being able to sing with his incredibly unique voice while playing his homemade suitcase drum with his feet, a hollow body guitar with his hands and harmonica all at the same time. All the while Brody fills out this iconic sound with groovy double bass lines, adhoc choreography and backing vocals. If you haven’t seen the Noah Young Duo Yet, you can be sure to catch them at your local. Just follow the foot stomping boogie and wailing blues.
